Jaqueline has worked at Bishop State Community College in Mobile since 2004. She received her BSN from the University of South Alabama, her MSN from the University of Mobile, and her EdD from The University of Alabama.
I selected nursing as a career after sensing a strong desire to help others in need.
Jacqueline also wanted to ensure she had a fruitful career path in front of her. Her two older sisters struggled to find work in their fields of study. However, Jacqueline knew there was a demand for nurses and opportunity for growth.
I knew I wanted to go to work immediately after graduating from college, so nursing was the right career for me.
Jacqueline joined ASNA after enrolling in graduate school and learning of the need to be a member of the professional organization for nurses. Although she became a member of ASNA, she did not actively participate due to limited availability, family obligations, and her work schedule. Once her children were grown, she finally had time to be the active member she always wanted to be.
Jacqueline has two daughters and two granddaughters. She likes to take on new challenges, learn about and work with technology, and to bake.
