Candace Pierce, DNP, RN, CNE, COICommission on Professional Issues

Dr. Pierce began her nursing career working as a cardiac nurse and moved to critical care a year later. She spent 4 years working as an assistant professor at Troy University before moving back to the clinical setting.

I found my love for teaching working at the naval hospital in Okinawa, Japan.

Candace currently works as the Director of Professional Development at Jackson Hospital, while also continuing to teach online for a BSN and MSN program. She holds a BSN from Arkansas Tech University, MSN in Nursing Education from Liberty University, and a DNP in Nursing Administration with an emphasis in Nursing Education from Samford University. She was a participant to Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design school for faculty innovation.

I’m committed to ensuring new graduates are well prepared and offered ample opportunity to increase their skills acquisition and confidence at the bedside, and ensuring seasoned nurses continue to have the resources they need to provide high-quality care to patients.

She enjoys participating in educational design and developing contemporary teaching strategies.
