With 17 years of experience in healthcare, nursing education, and currently the Veterans Health Administration through the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center (BVAMC) and Huntsville VA Outpatient Clinic, Dr. Wilkinson has intimate knowledge of the challenges the nursing profession faces.
Lindsey Harris, DNP, FNP-BC began her nursing career at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. She had the opportunity to work in the RN internship program as a staff nurse where she gained a great deal of experience as she worked in various parts of the hospital, including women’s health, psychiatry, and general medicine.

When Sharon was five years old, she went with her grandmother to visit her great aunt who was in the end stage of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). There was very little comfort for her great aunt, which was very concerning for Sharon. She decided that day that she would become a nurse.

Jeanette has been a registered nurse for 18 years. She began her nursing career as a pediatric nurse and has spent the last 14 years working in various roles on the Mother/Baby unit at Huntsville Hospital W&C.
Mary Beth has nearly 35 years’ experience and has worked at DCH Health System and UAB School of Nursing. She started nursing as a second career. She always wanted to work in the medical field with children, having been inspired by her grandfather, who was a country doctor before the Generalist was even identified.

Dr. Curry has been a member of ASNA since she became a nurse in 2004. She is active in numerous leadership roles and was a 2017 participant in the ASNA Leadership Academy. Subsequent to that participation she joined the mentor team and has had one or more mentees every year. She is an active mentor, contributing her presence, her expertise, and her dedication.

James currently serves as the District Nurse Administrator of Home Care for the Alabama Department of Public Health. Over the last 25 years, as a RN, he has worked in many healthcare settings in a clinical, educational, or administrative role.

Jay Prosser has been in the healthcare industry for over 15 years. He began his career as an associate degree prepared nurse and has worked as a critical care nurse, emergency department nurse, practice administrator and nurse manager. Currently, he is the Coronary Care Unit Manger at Brookwood Baptist Health.
